To our incredible community… thank you. ❤️🐾
Because of your generosity during Give DeKalb County, homeless pets at Tails Humane Society will continue receiving the care, safety, medical treatment, and second chances they deserve. Every donation, share, comment, and word of encouragement made a difference for the animals who rely on us every single day.
From frightened strays and injured pets to puppies, kittens, and longtime shelter residents still waiting for their forever homes- your support gives them hope for a brighter future. We are endlessly grateful to everyone who gave, shared our mission, cheered us on, and helped make this day so meaningful. We truly could not do this lifesaving work without you.
Thank you for believing in second chances.

Opening your home to a foster pet can truly save a life. Through our Foster Program, you can give animals the love, comfort, and care they need while they wait for their forever homes. Whether they’re recovering, growing, or just needing a break from the shelter, fostering helps pets thrive. We provide the supplies and support- you provide the love. 🐾.
May's Featured Adoptable: Pelican!
Hi there! My name is Pelican and I'm looking for my forever home! I already know sit and down, and I'm not picky about treats at all — I'll happily take whatever you've got! I can be a little jumpy when I get excited, but I've gotten much better. I'm easy to walk with minimal pulling, house trained, and I've done great the people I meet. I even ride well in the car! I won't sugarcoat it — I had a tough road for the first couple of years of my life. But despite all of that, I am a happy, friendly guy. I give sweet kisses, love picking out my own toys, and enjoy a good brushing session. I'm proof that love and a second chance can go a long way. I do best as the only pet in the home — no cats please, and I'd prefer to meet any resident dogs one on one before making things official.
Could your home be my happy ending? Come visit me!
